Sprockets, platewheels and gears
Customised production for your requirements
We individually produce sprockets according to your requirements and needs for conveyor chains, drive chains and any kind of special chains made of diverse material.
Applicated with either extended tooth gaps, dirt grooves, in a split design, hardened teeth or already mounted on shaft. We also produce sprockets for your gears, straight toothed, diagonal toothed or with V-toothing – here we are the right contact as well.

Power transmission through the sprocket
In order for chains to run in an installation, we need sprockets that drive and guide the roller chains, conveyor chains or other types of chain. For this purpose, the sprockets are equipped with teeth that engage with the chain links. These teeth are standardised according to the chain types used. Accordingly, we can build a suitable sprocket with the information of the chain type.

Different types of sprockets
FB manufactures your sprocket according to your requirements in numerous different designs. In addition to the different chain types, the shape of the sprockets or platewheel is also very variable. For example, we can offer platewheels without hubs, sprockets with hubs on one or both sides in symmetrical or asymmetrical designs. We also offer simplex, duplex or triplex sprockets for roller chains, i.e. sprockets with one, two or three lines of teeth.

Ready-to-install sprockets
In sprocket production, we see numerous special features and processing stages that are customised to the customer's requirements. For example, we manufacture the sprocket with a bore to match your shafts. We add grooves and threaded holes to fix the sprocket to the shaft to ensure an optimum fit. Alternatively, we can also supply our sprockets with built-in ball bearings or taperlock bushes, for example. When we look at the toothing, we recommend using hardened teeth to increase service life. Dirt notches and an extended pitch clearance help in systems with a lot of dirt. This makes it easier for impurities that have got into the chain to fall off the sprocket and prevents the chain from running incorrectly.
Our tip! Split sprockets often make installation much easier. The sprocket does not have to be mounted on the shaft from the side, instead the sprocket halves can be placed directly on the shaft in the right place and bolted together. The same applies to disassembly; instead of pulling the sprockets off to the side, the screw connection can be loosened and the sprocket simply removed. A permanently installed hub body with bolted sprocket segments can also be mounted on the shaft so that only the sprocket segments need to be replaced.
